An early 20th century German silver Egyptian style sugar basket, Kesselstadt by Karl Kurz, import marks for London 1903 by Julius Blanckensee
of tall oval form upon four legs with lion paw and anthemion feet, the junctions formed as Sphinx adjoining a guilloche rim. The swing handle with a rosette centre. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Marked to handle and rim, also with S Blanckensee & Sons mark.
