A late 19^th / early 20^th century Austrian 800 standard silver sugar box (zuckerdose), Vienna circa 1900 by Emilie Gross (active 1892-1900)

Of oval form with a hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable finial formed as ribbons with tassels. The front engraved with initials AK in cypher. Gilt interior. Marked to the back and lid interior, maker’s mark EG in a cut corner rectangular punch.
