A mid-20^th century Iraqi silver and niello cigarette box, Basra circa 1950

Of rectangular form with wooden interior. The lid with a niello scene of palm trees before the Abu Hanifa al in Nu'man, Baghdad and a dhow sailing boat. The interior of the lid engraved with a presentation inscription reading “To Mr and Mrs Lister, from Class Six Newmansour School in Appreciation”. Unsigned.
