Provenance: From the estate of the artist.

Notes: Leslie Summers, sculptor and lecturer was born and lived in London. He studied at Chelsea School of Art and Hammersmith College of Art and was elected a fellow of Free Painters and Sculptors in 1969. His work was figurative and focused on rounded and simplified forms, all constructed from acrylic or bronze.

He exhibited widely including RA, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Wills Lane Gallery in St Ives, Vth International Bienal in Barcelona in 1975 in which he was a prize winner. He also exhibited at Cork Street Gallery from 1967 and then at the Alwin Gallery. National Museum of Wales in Cardiff, British Tourist Authority and Brighton Marina contain examples. Summers was an occasional lecturer on sculpture of the Italian Renaissance.
