A large mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) silver and enamel box, Isfahan circa 1950, mark of Reza, retailed by Mozafarian of Tehran

Of circular form the pull-off lid with an inset enamel minakari plague painted with the Shah Mosque Isfahan encircled within a decorative band of peony vignettes. The sides of the base with engraved ghalam zani decoration of peonies flanked by long tailed birds reserved against a textured ground, the lid edge with trailing foliate forms. Marked to the reverse with standard mark (۸۴), and workshop mark رضا, also with retailer’s stamp MAD IN TEHRAN MOZAFARIAN.
