A Nicholas I mid-19^th century Russian 84 zolotnik silver and niello snuff box, Moscow 1853 by Ф.B (Postnikova 2946)

Of baluster rectangular form, with a hinged lid raised by an unmarked rose gold thumbpiece, a rose gold hinge. The lid with a niello decorated scene of The Triumphal Gate on Tverskaya Zastava Square. The sides with arabesque scrolls. Gilt interior. Mark of assayer AC (untraced).
