A late 19th century Ottoman Turkish 900 standard silver twin handled tray, Tughra of Sultan Abdul Hamid II (1876-1909)

Of oval form with a scalloped ovolo rim. The detachable cast handles formed as a C scroll with acanthus scrolls and rosettes. The ovolo edge with repousse decoration of trailing fruiting vine against a matted ground. Marked with sahh and tughra twice to the otherwise plain field and to each handle, sahh marks to each retaining nut, assay scrapes twice to underside, to underside of each handle and to one screw section. Additionally, later marked twice to the field with a French guarantee mark.
