An early 20th century Iraqi silver and niello cruet set on tray, Omara circa 1930
The tray of rectangular form with canted corners and twin handles, nielloed with a scene of the Abu Hanifa al in Nu'man, Baghdad,with dhow sailing boat and palm trees. Edged with the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), mudhif, boatmen in gufa, and a caravan of camels. The cruet comprising a salt with spoon, mustard pot, and a pepper pot, each of tapering conical form, nielloed with the same scenes. Unsigned. (5)
