A mid-20th century Iraqi silver dressing table box, Omara or Basra circa 1950
Of rectangular form with a hinged lid, the top engraved with a scene of the Abu Hanifa al in Nu'man, Baghdad, with dhow sailing boat and palm trees. The sides with the lion of Babylon, Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), a caravan of camels, and boatman in a gufa. Engraved to the lid SHEILA.
