A MEISSEN TEABOWL, circa 1740, painted with harbour scenes to each side, one with an officer on horseback, the other with gentlemen engaged in conversation, within gilt quatrelobe cartouches embellished with iron-red and purple scrollwork and indianische Blumen, gilt-line rim, the centre with a spray of flowers, 7.2cm diameter, crossed swords mark in underglaze blue, gold letter N., unidentified Dreher's mark of * and / inside the footrim PROVENANCE: Private German collection.
