A mid-20th century Burmese silver bowl, Rangoon circa 1950

Of compressed globular form upon a spreading circular foot. The body with high relief embossed decoration of figures within vignette architraves, comprising two of a seated figure pouring tea from a teapot, a caparisoned elephant with handlers, and and keeling woman with a lioness to one side and a Chinthe to the other. All interspersed with foliate scroll and leaf motifs below a convex band chased with trailing foliate scrolls. Stamped underneath 95% SILVER, BURMA and with a mark of T and S in cypher.
