A MEISSEN TEABOWL AND SAUCER, circa 1735, painted with Kauffahrtei scenes depicting merchants and their wares by a quayside, within elaborate gilt cartouches embellished with purple scrollwork, with gilt diaper and scrollwork rims, the saucer 13.4cm diameter, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue and gold number 55. to both, impressed Dreher’s mark of a cross within a circle inside the footrims for Johann Christoph Schumann, the teabowl also with incised / inside footrim, the saucer with impressed number 2 (2) PROVENANCE: Private German collection.
