A mid-20^th century Sudanese silver cigarette box, Omdurman dated 1942

Rectangular form with a hinged lid, The lid with flat chased decoration of stylised border of scroll forms with eyelets. The lid centre with a textured boss chased in Arabic with the maker, Nazar Mubarak, Omdurman أم درمان‎ and the date ١٩٤٢. Together with a small circular dish, Omdurman dated 1937, also marked with Egyptian marks for Cairo 1936-7. (2)
