A PANEL OF CUT SILK VELVET Yazd, Iran, mid-19th century  Woven in indigo, madder, and burnt orange against a cream ground with stylised floral starbursts and scrolling foliage in narrow rectangles, the panel encompassing three pattern repeats, professionally backed and mounted on stretcher, 99cm x 53.5cm. Provenance: acquired from Raymond Benardout Gallery in 1999 by the present owner.
