A GEORGE III MAHOGANY SERPENTINE-FRONTED SIDEBOARD

A GEORGE III CROSS BANDED MAHOGANY SERPENTINE-FRONTED SIDEBOARD, with a central apron drawer and two deep side drawers; one fitted with the original lead lined cellaret, with string inlay and replacement octagonal brass handles to the front, on six tapering legs.

84cm high x 178cm wide x 71cm deep

Provenance: From a collection of furniture and antiques left to the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB ) in 1939 by Evelyn Stannus of Kensington. Items in the collection are believed to have come from Ireland. Since 1939 many objects from the collection have been on loan to the National Trust and this item has been displayed at Lyme Park.
