A mid-19th century Indian colonial silver twin handled cup and cover, Calcutta circa 1860 by Hamilton and Co

Of campana form upon a domed circular foot with an acanthus leaf mid-section. Applied S scroll bifurcated handles with scroll junctions. The pull off domed lid surmounted by detachable pyriform finial. The body, foot and lid with embossed decoration of floral sprays, the cartouches either side later engraved “Lorrie” Green meadow 1946 and Presented by Mr Gomer Charles. Gilt interior. Marked to foot rim H&C, Roman capital A, elephant and tally mark, the lid unmarked.
