A mid-19^th century Chinese export silver snuff box, Canton circa 1850 retailed by Sun Shing

Of rectangular form with a hinged lid, the rims of chased rosettes and foliage. The lid with a noble procession on horseback within a village setting, against fir trees, the underside with figures in a rural setting amidst fir trees, the sides with figures playing games or seated at a table. Gilt interior. Marked to interior with pseudo hallmarks of a lion passant, London town mark, duty mark and retailer SS.
