A mid-19th century Chinese export silver cheroot or lancet case, Canton circa 1850 retailed by Khecheong

Of tapering rectangular form, of oblong cross-section with a pull off lid. The body with chased decoration of figural village scenes, with figures playing games, examining scrolls, or playing a guqin, all reserved with willow and fir trees, and buildings. Engraved to the top of lid Dr William Mackie, the interior bezel with ‘Forget me not’. The underside with pseudo hallmarks of a lion passant, London town mark, duty mark and retailer KHC.
