A late 19th century Burmese unmarked silver milk jug, Thayetmyo circa 1880
Of tapering cylindrical form with an everted lip, the C scroll formed handle formed as a chased cast lizard, the body with embossed decoration of figures in traditional dress one side within an interior and the other including a seated figure holding a fan, reserved with rosewood trees and clouds. The front with a vacant shield shape cartouche, reserved with foliate scrolls. The fixed lined interior forming the pouring lip, the rim with flat chased decoration of foliate scrolls against a ring punches ground. The underside with flat chased rosette.
