A fine mid-18th century Spanish Colonial silver twin handled bowl, Guatemala circa 1750
Of rounded circular form upon a spreading collet foot and a caulked rim. The body with a half-fluted decoration, applied ribbed twin C scroll handles. The exterior with engraved decoration of dogs, owls, parrots, a turkey and a cat among others interspaced with flower heads. The interior with a similar band of decoration and the base with incised concentric circles with a band of trailing foliate scroll. Marked twice to rim incompletely.
