A mid-18th century Dutch silver teapot, Amsterdam 1752 by Matthijs Crayenschot (1714-96)

Of inverted baluster form with inverted edges, upon a moulded foot. The curved spout with cast rocaille base opposite a wooden C scroll handle pinned to conforming sockets. The hinged lid with a cast central section in the auricular style with a sprig of flowers. Fully marked underneath, date letter C, makers mark MC.

Length – 21.2 cm / 8.25 inches

Weight – 385 grams / 12.38 ozt
