A CHINESE QINGBAI EWER AND COVER

宋 青白釉執壺連蓋
The lobed body rising to a flared neck, set to the shoulder with a tall, flat looping handle opposite a slender curving spout, the top of the handle applied with a small loop, the cover also with a small loop besides a moulded leafy bud decoration to the centre, covered in a bluish-white glaze that darkens in the recesses, together with a box,

c.f. A similar ewer, dated to the Song Dynasty and exhibiting a flat base like the present lot, is in the Freer Gallery of Art, Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art, acc. no. F1907.285.
A comparable ewer was sold at Christie's New York, 22nd March 2018, lot 531. Another comparable piece was offered at Bonhams New York, 18th March 2019, lot 610.
A similar ewer is illustrated in Eskenazi, Ancient Chinese bronze vessels, gilt bronzes and early ceramics, June - July 1973, p.97, no. 61.
