A COPPER-LUSTRE POTTERY JUG Kashan, Iran, late 12th - early 13th century Of compressed globular shape with a tall cylindrical neck and a curved handle on the side, resting on a slightly splayed circular foot, the moulded body presenting copper-lustre decoration in Kashan miniature style on the raised areas, the decoration consisting of roundels filled with stars, spirals and stylised vegetal pattern on the body, calligraphic cartouches on the neck and handle, and a continuous pseudo-Kufic calligraphic line inside the neck, an inventory number '850' imprinted on the base, 22cm high.
