An early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver bowl, Lucknow circa 1920

Raj period. Of compressed circular form with a fold over rim. The sides with embossed decoration in Burmese pattern, of various figures including a kinnari and other figures seated on a dias, all within shaped architraves with lambrequins, interspersed with trees. All above an acanthus leaf border, the upper section with rosettes and trailing foliage within a scalloped border. The underside flat chased with a peacock, encircled.
