An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver bowl, Lucknow circa 1910-20
Raj period. Of compressed circular form with a fold over rim, the body with embossed decoration in Pharaonic pattern, of Egyptian figures some with the crook and flail and others with offering tables, all against a textured ground with foliage, all above a band of stylised acanthus leaves. The underside chased with a Sphinx, encircled.
Height – 11.2 cm / 4.4 inches
Diameter – 19 cm / 7.5 inches
Weight – 776 grams / 24.95 ozt
