Group of five autograph letters signed ('Geo. Gilbert Scott' or 'Geo.G. Scott") to various recipients, declining invitations ("I should have felt much pleasure in accepting it but it happens to be the day when the Council of the Royal Academy, of which I am a member, have to dine with the Lord Mayor", 23 May 1867), writing to express condolences (letter to Townshend Mainwaring, reading in part "Allow me first to express my most sincere sympathy in the severe loss you have sustained in the death of Mr. Mainwaring. I feel it myself as the loss of a very kind and valued friend and patron whose memory I shall ever hold in the highest esteem", 16 July 1867) and discussing financial matters, seven pages in total, 8vo, Hampstead Heath, 20 Spring Gardens and Courtfield House, 19 June 1860- November 1877; together with eight autograph letters by Richard Norman Shaw, including two to a Professor Reily from Liverpool, the first saying "I remember your design perfectly and we discussed it again and again. It was amongst the good ones, but I need not remind you that out of 99 we had let aside 84!!...the last 15 were agony", 4 October 1907, the second thanking him for "the illustrations of your students' work. They are on the whole very good", 29 July 1909; some folding marks and soiling, all 8vo. (13)
