A large collection of items relating to English composer Eric Coates, comprising: 5 printed music scores dating from 1930-1960, including “I heard you singing”, “Homeward to you”, “Bird Songs at Eventide”, and “I pitch my lonely caravan at night”, all unsigned, folio; one handwritten score titled “I heard you singing” signed by Eric Coates; one score “Four Old English Songs” signed and inscribed by Eric Coates “To Irene Bonas, with all good wishes from Eric Coates”; typed letter with the signature of Eric Coates written on 25th December 1952 to Miss Irene Bonas, regarding how to obtain the music for his composition “Four Old English Songs”; handwritten letter from Eric Coates to Miss Irene Bonas written on 12th December 1933, regarding two new songs he had written; black and white photograph of Eric Coates, signed and inscribed “To Irene Bonas with best wishes from Eric Coates”, dated 1933; Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra concert programme dated March 18th 1956, page one signed by Eric Coates; hardback book “Suite in Four Movements” by Eric Coates published in 1953; additional sheet music comprising 156 paper booklets of printed sheet music; 29 smaller paper booklets of printed sheet music, and 13 handwritten booklets of sheet music, featuring a range of composers including Florence Aylward, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gaetano Braga, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Liza Lehman, Franz Schubert, Charles Gounod and others, many loose pages, tears, age-related wear throughout, some staining and discolouration caused by tape, most have some light foxing, v.s. 1930-1960 (Qty: c.200)
