A rare mid to late 19th century Anglo - Indian silver butter dish, Kashmir circa 1870

Raj period. The butter dish of tapering cylindrical form with a pull off lid rising to a central point with inverted truncated conical and knop finial. Modelled after a Kashmiri lacquered papier mache turban box. Each all over with chased decoration in shawl pattern.

Height – 9 cm / 3.5 inches

Diameter – 8.7 cm / 3.45 inches

Weight – 250 grams / 8.04 ozt
