An early 20th century Chinese export silver bowl, Canton or Hong Kong circa 1920, marked Hua Zhen, retailed by Zee Wo of Shanghai
Republic period. Of rounded circular form with a scalloped moulded rim, raised upon a spreading circular foot. The body with cast and applied decoration of panels of flowering prunus attended to by a bird, bamboo, fir trees with two storks, chrysanthemums, a stork with iris flowers, two figures descending a walkway one caring items on a yoke. Marked underneath with a partially obscured artisan mark 華珍 (HUA ZHEN), and retailer’s mark ZW twice.
