AN HISPANO-MORESQUE COPPER LUSTRE-PAINTED POTTERY TAZZA

Of shallow circular shape, the dish resting on a short pedestal with a splayed stepped base, rising to an upturned rim, the white-ground top painted with ruby copper lustre, decorated with a central flower bloom with carnations spraying from a miniature amphora-like vase, framed within a spiralling design and concentric lines, the white underside with lustre-painted vegetal sprays, meanderings and stylised flowerheads, a similar spiralling design to the edges as on the top, the foot fully painted in ruby copper lustre, 6.5cm high and 25.5cm diam.
