An officer's spadroon, featuring a double-edged narrow broadsword blade, service sharpened on the front edge, with a gilt brass hilt with horn grip. Some of the brass grip wire remaining. This sword probably dates to the 1780s or 90s and could have been a dress sword for a cavalry officer, or perhaps an infantry or Naval officer's non-regulation sidearm. Blade 83.5cm long, overall length 96cm.
