An early 20th century Chinese export silver goblet, Shanghai circa 1920, marked Zhao Ji, retailed by Kwan Hing of Hong Kong
Republic period. Of rounded circular form upon a stem with a central knop, a spreading domed foot. The body with embossed decoration of chrysanthemums against a textured ground, centred with a vacant circular cartouche. The stem with chased stylised leaf forms, the base with flat chased trailing bamboo. Traces of gilding to the interior. Marked to the footrim edge with artisan mark 釗記 (ZHAO JI, the workshop of Zhao), retailer’s mark KH, and another partly obscured mark possibly standard mark 足銀 (ZU YIN | Pure silver).
