An early 19th century Indian colonial unmarked salt caster, probably Madras circa 1820, together with a George III sterling silver pepper caster, London 1816 by Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard

Each of cylindrical form upon a pedestal circular base, the pull off waisted lids with drill pierced holes to the Emes and Barnard example, and slats to the Indian example. Each with die-rolled and applied fruiting vine borders, the feet with acanthus edge border. Each either chased with SALT or PEPPER within a scroll border. Gilt interior. The London example fully marked to the side and part-marked to the lid bezel. (2)
