A fine hand-coloured ninth plate daguerreotype portrait, the sitter wearing a red, double breasted ceremonial uniform with Sergeant's sash, gilt accents to buttons and collar, in a plain brass arched top mat, red morroco case with single side brass hinge, and Mayall's 224 Regent Street Argyll Place address label gilt embossed on lower lid.
