TWO CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE BOWLS AND A TORTOISESHELL BOX AND COVER.
Qing Dynasty, 19th Century.
The first bowl with an oval-section body and a scalopped rim, painted with five dragons writhing among smoke and clouds, the interior and underside glazed turquoise and with a six character Xianfeng mark, the second bowl painted with bitter mellon creepers wrapped around bamboo shoots, the design spilling over to the interior, a six character Jiaqing mark to the base, the circular Canton box typically carved with figures and dwellings among trees, 21cm long.
