Morocco, North Africa, the manuscript 18th century, the binding 19th century

Due to its concision and clarity, this text by the Moroccan Berber author Abu ‘Abd Allah Sidi Muhmmad ibn Da’ud as-Sanhaji – also known as Ibn Ajarrum (1273-1324) - has long been considered the beginner’s go-to text for Arabic grammar and syntax. Known variously in the West as Agrumiah, Gjarumiah, and Girumia through various publications, it was first published in Rome in 1593, with the first English translation appearing in Cambridge in 1853.
Dimensions: the folio 22.8cm x 16.5cm
