TWO QAJAR POLYCHROME-PAINTED POTTERY TILES
Qajar Iran, 19th century
Each of square shape, painted in cobalt blue, bright pink, yellow, turquoise, green and black against a white ground, the decoration on each tile mainly consisting of floral and vegetal motifs, including rosette heads and foliage, contained in either cusped cartouches or overlapping bands, one tile framed and with an old inventory sticker at the back 39SCW (Stuart Cary Welch?), the other loose, approximately 19cm x 19cm each.
