Mazzini (Giuseppe)
Autograph letter signed ('Jos. Mazzini') to an unknown recipient, reading "There is in being a central Polish Committee: the treasurer is Monsieur Edmond de Lafayette, Quai Malaquais n.3. But I fear the funds would be applied to exiles residing in France. The treasurer would no doubt answer the question. General Langewicz [Marian Langiewicz] now in Switzerland and General Bossack [Józef Hauke-Bosak] in Florence would most likely be the most convenient persons to whom to send funds for the proposal you mention. I am in contact with both", one page, integral blank, light folding mark, in very good condition, small 8vo, 4 March [1864?], 2 Onslow Terrace.
***Rare letter by Italian activist and nationalist Giuseppe Mazzini mentioning leading figures of the 1863 January uprising in Poland.
