Thaulow, a Norwegian Impressionist. He studied in Copenhagen and Paris, where he came into contact with the French Impressionist movement, which greatly influenced his style. Thaulow's works display a loose brushwork, vibrant colours, and a keen observation of light and atmosphere.

Traveling extensively throughout Europe, he depicted scenes from Norway, France, England, the Netherlands, and Italy. He participated in numerous exhibitions, including the Paris Salon, and received several awards for his work.
He played a significant role in the development of Norwegian art, promoting Impressionism and plein air painting style.
