A PANEL OF FOUR CUERDA SECA POTTERY TILES
Qajar Iran, late 19th century

Each of square shape, painted in pink, cobalt blue, yellow, brown, turquoise and green against a white ground, outlined in manganese black, creating a typical Qajar decorative composition with a central vase filled with a lush floral triumph and flanked by pairs of birds, encased within a cusped cartouche outlined in cobalt blue and with split palmettes and flowers on each corner, yellow and turquoise bands to the outer border, mounted and framed, 38cm x 37.5cm excluding the frame.
