An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver bowl, Lucknow circa 1910
Raj period. Of compressed circular form with convex sides. The body with embossed decoration in hunting pattern, depicting hunters slaying a lion with a spear and gun, figures on horseback being pursued by a tiger, a figure with a gun riding a caparisoned elephant shooting at a tiger picked up in the trunk of the elephant, another hunter on horseback shooting at a wild boar. All above a band of stylised leaves and rosettes. The underside with a flat chased circular motif of a peacock.
