A Russian M1881 type cavalry sword, with scabbard featuring integral attached bayonet. Single-edged blade, 86cm long, sharpened and with false-edge, marked to ricasso with various stamps including 1920 date, hammer and sickle emblem and the letter K repeated. Brass knucklebow and pommel cap with carved wooden grip. Scabbard with brass mounts and unusually with steel locket and chape rather than brass. Integral Mosin-Nagant rifle bayonet attached. Scabbard of wood, with worn painted fabric covering, the top layer being reddish-brown and black under that.
