TWO OTTOMAN STEEL POLE AXES (BARDICHE) Ottoman Turkey, 16th - 17th century  The steel blade of typical crescent-moon shape, one pole axe with the narrow lower end flattened and braced against the wooden shaft, the latter with circular pierced design on the inner side of the blade, both secured with steel studs onto later wooden shafts, respectively 72cm and 66.8cm high including shaft.
