An early 20th century Anglo – Indian Raj unmarked silver coffee pot, probably Calcutta or Bombay circa 1910
Of oval form with a rounded base, the body with finely embossed decorative bands of elephants within foliage against a matted ground, this inbetween similar bands of lions and wild cats. The curved spout formed as an elephant’s head opposite a curved handle also formed as an elephant’s head with wooden insulators. The cavetto top with a domed hinged lid with fluted section surmounted by a detachable elephant finial.
