Nevil Story Maskelyne (1823-1911)
LACE, c.1840-42, salt paper print from a photogenic drawing, image size, 180 x 133mm, mounted onto contemporary embossed brown card support, only six photographs from Story Maskelyne's early experiments have ever come to public auction, and only one other photogenic drawing similar to the one offered here.
