Vienna, late 19th - early 20th century

Cast in the shape of a Middle Eastern interior scene with a Muslim scholar seated on a colourful Caucasian rug, reading a book, possibly a Qur'an, next to him the inkwell designed as a hexagonal occasional table surmounted by a spouted ewer, stamped with a letter 'B' in an urn-shaped cartouche and 'Nam Greb' – 'Bergman' in reverse, 14cm x 10.5cm.
