An early 20th century Amerian sterling silver and enamel cigarette case, Attleboro, Massachusetts circa 1930 by Thomae Co, retailed by Shreve Crump and Low Co
Of rectangular form with push button release, the front with an enamelled skier mid-jump. Gilt interior. Marked to the hinged support flange. Housed in a later fitted case.

Charles Thomae was superintendent of the Watson Co and The Thomae Co was formed as a division of the Watson Co. In 1920 Charles Thomae resigned from both firms and started a new business as Chas. Thomae & Son in partnership with his son Herbert L. Thomae. Charles Thomae died in 1958 and the business was continued by his two sons Herbert L. and Charles G. Thomae.
