THE WW1 NAVAL LOG AND PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM of Commander Claude Elbrow RN (1888 - 1943), the album comprising of approx. 345 silver gelatin photographs with a couple of examples by named photographers including Robertson & Co. illustrating the extensive career of the Royal Naval Commander during a key period of 20th century history. Subjects include a group of images relating to the surrender of Balshavik soldiers during the Baltic War 1919 – 1920, Images of Admiral Beatty, watching the surrender of the German Fleet November 1918, the combined fleets at Torbay, July 1910, the 1st Battle Squadron arriving in Ireland for the Coronation review in July 1911, The damages suffered to H.M.S Conquest at the hands of a German Battlecruiser in April 1916, submarines being brought into Harwich after the Armistice, Coventry & Dragon switching posts in Hamburg 1919, Admiral Beatty in Brest 1919, Malta, Palma, Tenerife., Madeira, Morroco, The Bay of Biscay and candid documentation of various maneouvres and exercises including smoke screening and torpedo tests, floating and drydocked Naval vessels, H.M.S Erne, H.M.S Collingwood, Neptune, Superb, Japenese warship Kurama.
