The joined cotton ground worked in coloured silks in a variety of stitches, the outer border and the central rectangle with floral discs within a grid of stylised branches, the wide inner border with delicate floral sprays, pairs of birds, and a bulbous ewer, suggesting the offer of fresh water and comfort to the visitor, lined in red cotton, with hanging rings, 234cm x 169cm.
