AN IRANIAN ENGRAVED SILVER TEAPOT
Isfahan, Iran, ca. 1950 - 1960
Of everted and faceted cylindrical shape, resting on a short, stepped foot, surmounted by a sloping, convex lid with faceted, bulbous finial, a curved spout and S-shaped handle with bone insulator on each side, the exterior decorated with typical motifs encountered in the Iranian silver production of the mid-20th century including chased lotus flowers inside cusped medallions, intricate arabesques, and further stylised vegetal and floral patterns, unmarked, 18.5cm high.
